Are you facing any of these situations?

  • You’re looking to make one of the most important purchases of your life and you don’t want to get burned because of not knowing who you can trust, or making a mistake that could cost you thousands of dollars later.
  • You do not know the values in the marketplace and you want to be assured of getting the most that you can for your money, without having any regrets after you have closed escrow.
  • You’re feeling out of control because there are so many unanswered questions.  Making it hard to know where to start.  Is there an easy way to buy a home?

If any of these situations sound familiar, then it's time to meet with Jason Gelios. Jason will help prepare you for the purchase of your next home by guiding you in the right direction.  Doesn’t it make sense that in order for you to make one of the most important decisions in your life you should be well-informed?

Get Pre-Approved BEFORE You Look

One of the most important things that should be done BEFORE you look for homes or work with a Real Estate Agent is to get pre-approved. Getting pre-approved shows that you are serious about looking for a home. Often times, Real Estate Agents will not work with someone until they are pre-approved. This also helps speed up the process should you find a property that you want to put an offer in. Without your pre-approval, you could be wasting time while someone else puts in an offer.

Don't Buy If You Won't Stay In The Home Long

To maximize the return on your home investment you should plan to reside in the home for at least three years. This will give you a better chance of getting a return on your money. Renting may be better if you are looking to move again in under three years.

Don't Max Out Your Budget

It may be tempting to splurge and get that monster dream home of yours. Before doing so, have a truthful conversation with yourself and/or spouse about what you can or can't afford.

Check Your Credit

Before looking at homes it makes sense to know where you stand with your credit. Credit is important as to identify what potential rate and payment you will be offered by a lender. This can also be accomplished by obtaining pre-approval from a lender to make sure you are aware of what you can afford. Often times, pre-approvals are free of charge.

You Don't Have To Have 20% Down Payment

There are many finance options that can assist you in getting financed for a home without putting that hefty down payment down. Again, know your budget and realistically know what you can afford. With owning a home, there will be other expenses as well such as water, heating, repairs, etc. To access my mortgage payment calculator, click here.

Make Sure You Love The Neighborhood

You probably have heard the phrase 'Location, Location, Location'. It's true that location is key when buying a home. Are the schools up to your standards? Is the area noisy? Are your potential neighbors a nusiance? It helps to drive by the house and area you are looking at to make sure nothing of concern stands out. You should do this at different times of the day and even at night.

Seek Professional Help

While the internet provides a lot of information and access to homes, a professional Real Estate Agent can work with you to make sure that you get the best deals at a great price. After all, you would not skip working with a Dentist to do your own teeth cleaning. Working with a Real Estate Agent can make sure you are in the best situation possible. A great Agent will negotiate in your favor and represent you and your needs.

The Bottom Line

There are many more tips on purchasing your next property. The best way to get expert guidance is to hire a real estate professional and lender that will guide you through the process. Always choose a professional who educates you in the process so you feel comfortable.
