Round beds Round beds were a trend that never stuck around for long. They can make a room feel awkward. Vertical blinds Vertical blinds can make a room seem outdated. A better option is curtains or even leaving the window or doorwall bare to let natural light in. Wallpaper borders Wallpaper may be coming back in small accent spaces but it surely has died out when it comes to borders. Not only can it seem outdated, it can be a major turn off for home buyers. Artificial Fruit I never understood the fake fruit as decoration trend. Anytime I saw iit displayed it was usually dusty and faded. There are better options to showcase your space. Wood paneling Wood paneling is seen in a lot of older homes especially in basements. A quick fix to this would be to paint it a lighter color. Removing it would be a better option. Hollywood vanity lights Big round bulbs that stick out of a fixture were somehow a big thing for a little while. You can update a light fixture fairly cheap these days. Floral and ruffle designs Comforters and curtains with floral designs all over it are in need of a huge update. Floral designs scream old and dated. Popcorn ceilings While popcorn ceilings are somewhat easy to scrape you want to make sure it does not contain asbestos. Once you get the clear, scrape and return the ceiling to it’s smooth original surface. Inspirational quote art Quotes that are affixed to the wall and/or above doorways is a thing of the past. Many home buyers have been known to be turned off by these words to live by. Toilet seat covers Probably the worst offender on this list is toulet seat covers. You see these in older homes and they are usually plush. Experts say they should be tossed. Just make sure the toilet sear lid looks nice and clean. These are the ten home trends that are horrifying to the majority of home buyers and the general public. Share your comments on these trends Do you have any of these in your home?
